Buddhist Temples

Added by SpencerPeet - 01/01/1970 01:00

Although there are many wonderful things for the tourist to do in Thailand, make a point of visiting as many Buddhist temples as possible. Ask your rep or hotel receptionist for a map of the area (or the whole island) containing locations for Buddhist temples. The Thai's love it when you show an interest in their beloved religion and that you want to go out of your way to see the temples and shrines. When you enter the temples and sites don't be afraid to approach the monks. Although most can not speak English they will be happy for you to sit with them - some will even do a blessing if you wish. And don't forget to smile alot. But be aware, of course, of the "Do's and Don'ts" of entering these places of worship. Many of the smaller ones may not permit any photography. Always show respect.
