Packing Guide for SE Asia

Added by JenniferSilver - 16/07/2008 09:19

So you are going backpacking around SE Asia
What do you pack?!

First of all let me tell you this, no matter what you pack.
Halve your clothes and pack more books and a good medicare/toiletries kit! Also remember to pack light!

I dont need to tell you how many clothes and what clothes to bring that is easy, just dont load up on jeans and things that are going to be hard to move around and sweat in.

Also dont bring alot of clothes that are hard to pack.

Dont bring your favourite clothes! Everytime i travel to asia i end up chucking half of my stuff, which i dont mind because i can go shopping at the end

If you are doing some special activities like trekking, mountain climbing, scuba diving etc make sure you bring all the proper equipment, clothes and accesories to keep you safe and comfortable.

Buy a sarong over in Asia and ditch the towel, sarongs dry quicker and can be stuffed into bags easier. Also they are versatile as a sheet, beach blanket, towel, dress anything! and quite the fashion statement in Bali!

If you are traveling in a Muslim country like Malaysia, Singapore or Indonesia you want to make sure to dress modestly in most places. GIRLS! if you are traveling solo n these places dont travel around in a mini skirt and bikini top, you will be harrased, i promise you this. Save your self the grief and bring a scarf or somethng to wrap around your head in strict muslim areas and try to hide all your lady features Trust me !
