Border Crossing 'Malaysia <-> Singapore'

Added by JenniferSilver - 16/07/2008 08:48

Oh man, traveling by land from Johor Bharu to Singapore may save some money, but it doesnt save peace of mind or time. This has to be the most stressful border crossing i have ever been through in Asia. It is even more of a hassle if you fly into the JB airport, because it is an hour away and the taxi fair is RM60! Now, the only alternative of getting into Singapore via Malaysia is Air obviously and it can be really expensive to fly direct to Singapore.

So if you dont have the money to save yourself some sanity then here are some tips to go about it smoothly.

When you get to Singapore immigration, remember to fill out a departure/arrival card and save yourself the time and embarrasment of having to go to the back of the line.

Don't take a Jb-Singapore bus all the way through to Singapore. They will mst likely leave with out you and it was a waste of money for the last part of your trip, getting into Singapore. Instead go line up at the local bus lines and hop on the bus to Queen Street station. This takes you to a central part of town and there is an MRT station close by.

MOST IMPORTANT
dont freak out, you will get there eventually.
