Tibidabo, Barcelona, featured in 'Shadow of the Wind'

If you want to do something different in Barcelona take a vist to Tibadabo - this is an interesting part of the city with lots of old mansion houses lining the streets.

Travel to Avenida Tibidabo on the metro (Line 7) then get the lovely old-fashioned wooden blue tram (Tramvia Blau) up the hill – there are a couple of nice places to eat here with excellent views.

If you want even better views take the funicular rail to the very top of the hill where there is an old-fashioned fairground, a church and Torre de Collserola which provides the highest viewpoint over the city.

This area was featured in the novel 'Shadow of the Wind' by Carlos Ruiz Zafón.
