Iberostar Grand Hotel, Trinidad, Cuba

I would highly recommend staying here - it is a stunning, luxurious hotel but with affordable rates – we were welcomed with a complimentary cocktail and taken to our room which had classical music playing, a lovely scent in the air and towels sculpted into swans!

However, whilst the restaurant is very smart it caters for the American market. There is no a-la-carte menu - the starters and desserts are buffet style but you can choose a main course. I am vegetarian but there were no meat-free dishes on offer so I ordered a plate of vegetables but had to pay the same price as everyone else. (35 pesos)
