Feast in Paris

Paris is known for its wonderful cuisine, but may not be known for its great value for money restaurants. One in particular is a must for anyone with a big appetite and a small budget. Visit La Taverne du Sergent Recruteur on Ile Saint-Louis, near the Notre Dame Cathedral, Métro cité for literally 'all you can eat' for 40 euros. A huge basket of sausages, and fresh crunchy vegetables are placed on the table for you to carve up and eat as much as you can, but the starter is not yet over! Next, there are huge hunks of bread to go with soup or to accompany the farmhouse pate that are also placed on the table. All the while, free flowing wine certainly helps to wash down the feast. Next, you can choose your main course and dessert if you can manage it after the plate of cheese that is brought to the table along with the coffee. Great service, great food, really atmospheric and really good value, this would be my top tip if visiting Paris.
