If you're visiting Vietnam, don't miss Sapa, up in the northwestern mountains. It's an amazing place with breathtaking views and the chance to see people of many different hilltribes (Hmong, Dao etc) in their distinctive, colourful, traditional dress. Take the night train from Hanoi to Lao Cai then a bus the rest of the way.
