Hi to all fellow travel junkies!!
My hubby and I are thinking of travelling in europe for three weeks in november, are we mad?? We plan to use an inter-rail ticket, travelling overnight and occasional camping. I'm worried I'm going to freeze whereas andy has tough skin!!
Does anyone have any suggestions of must-sees and must-do's?? We are open to suggestions from trekking in the mountains to site-seeing in the cities.
Has anyone used an inter-rail ticket before, are they safe and widely recognised!!!
We would really appriecate any suggestions
Many thank-you's

Hi there!
Inter-railing is a great way to get round Europe - although I did it many years ago now, I'm sure it still just as easy as it once was... I do remember having to book seats on some trains though - you can't always just turn up without seat reservations so watch out for that... In terms of places to go there are so many to choose from - my experience is that Germany is a fun place to travel around with loads of interesting places to visit, Barcelona is a city that is loads and loads of fun and has plenty of culture to match, Portugal is possibly my favourite country in the world (don't miss Porto)... but then again eastern Europe has always offered lots of great weekend breaks too.
Whatever you end up doing it sounds like a fantastic trip - and staying south may be better for camping!
Have fun!

I went traveling round Europe last year for 3.5 weeks. We ended up buying our train tickets as we went as we thought it was cheaper than an interrail ticket and gave us the option to get buses where that was quicker. We spent a couple of days in each place though and a lot of time in Eastern Europe were prices are cheaper. If you're going round Spain / France / Italy etc you're probably better with a pass.
I'd recommend Vienna and Budapest if you're going to be round that area.
