I'm planning to travel by train from London to Istanbul by train next Easter and was looking for some advice on the Budapest to Istanbul leg. I want to spend about 2 days in each city, Budapest, Belgrade and Sofia before arriving in Istanbul.

I was just wondering how much it would cost for the tickets, if i would be able to just arrive at the station and buy tickets there or if i would need to book in advance. Maybe an interrail pass would be better???

Any advice and tips would be great!
