Win a once in a lifetime trip to Everest base camp for two

Spend 19 days in the Himalayas: trek to base camp on the highest mountain in the world, stay in teahouses and witness the superb views of Mount Everest with The Adventure Company.

Courtesy of the Adventure Company, you and a travelling companion could be heading to Kathmandu for this trip of a lifetime.
After some time wandering the narrow streets of the bustling capital of Nepal, you’ll fly to Lukla from where your trek to Everest will start. Following the course of the Dudh Kois, or the ‘River of Milk’, the trail gradually rises through forests of rhododendron and magnolia, with the peaks of the Himalaya looming above offering outstanding views as you walk.
To help trekkers adjust to the mountains’ high altitude, rest days will be spent at the delightful Sherpa capital Namche Bazaar and also at Dingboche village, set beneath the spectacular peak of Ama Damblam.
Climbing higher, the dramatic landscape changes until you reach Lobuche where freezing temperatures will see you walking among frozen rivers in an icy wilderness. From here, the trek to base camp itself begins as you make your way to the foot of the world’s highest peak. The final highlight of this exciting trip will take you to Kalar Patar at 5,545m, offering stunning views of Everest and the Khumbu Glacier below.

All you need to do to have a chance of winning is answer this simple question:

What does Dudh Kois mean?

       a.      River of Blood
       b.
River of Milk
       c.
River of Ice

The prize is valid for two people, not including flights and must depart before 20 September, 2009. There is no cash alternative.

This competition closed on 30 November 2008.
